A Warm Welcome to Pastor Duke Gray, our Interim Minister
Next Sunday morning, June 18, we welcome our new Interim Pastor, the Rev. Duke T. Gray. Mark your calendar now and be sure to join us for this important occasion.
Over the past fourteen years, Pastor Gray has served seven churches in Massachusetts and New Hampshire as an Interim Pastor, the most recent being in Chester, NH. Prior to that, he served many years as a settled Pastor in Brooklyn, New York; Jamestown, New York; Toronto, Ontario; and Chicago, Illinois. Before his first retirement in 2001, his last settlement was for thirteen years in Malden, Massachusetts.
He currently serves as Chairperson of the Committee on Ministerial Standing for the NE Association of the Massachusetts Conference, United Church of Christ; and on the Board of the Mercersburg Society, an ecumenical study group based at Lancaster Theological Seminary, UCC, in Pennsylvania.
He and his wife, Gloria, live in Lowell, Massachusetts. Their two children and five grandchildren all live in Chicago. Gloria is a life-long Roman Catholic, currently on a three-month mission tour in Slovakia, Eastern Europe. She serves there as a volunteer lay evangelist, preaching and teaching in both Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic parishes, prayer groups, and Gypsy Bible schools, which she has done each summer for the past nine years.
