A re you ready for spring and Easter yet!  Believe it or not, Ash Wednesday is February 14th and Easter is April 1st.  The Diaconate is working on the following services:

Ash Wednesday, February 14:  We will have a short service at the church which will include giving of ashes, hymns, and scripture, at 5:30 p.m.  We encourage families to attend.  Youth groups will be meeting as usual at 6:00 p.m. that night.

Maundy Thursday and the Vigil, March 29: We have begun planning the Thursday night service.  After discussion between the Council and the Diaconate, we have been encouraged to hold the vigil again.  We will have a sign-up sheet for the Vigil and see how many sign up.  In the past few years, it has been hard to get people (Michael Krill is an exception) to take the early morning hours after midnight until about 5 a.m.  We are considering a partial vigil.  Let us know how you feel and how much you are willing to do.

Easter, April 1:  We do not have information on the Sunrise Service yet.  Our traditional celebration will be held as usual at 10:30 a.m.

Pastor Duke will be holding a luncheon Bible Study on the second Thursday of the month.  The first one will be February 8.  We will meet at the Dubben House at noon.  Bring your lunch and join us.  Watch the Digital Steeple for more information.  Depending on attendance, we might extend it to two Thursdays a month.

In other discussion, we will be trying out having announcements right before the offering.
